Reports of fan frenzy over the replacement of Rachelle Lefevre with Bryce Dallas Howard have reached fever pitch.Twilight fans may be to young to understand the business rules that govern the movie industry. But that’s why actors are required to have an agent, a business representative required to know the union laws and work rules.
Now the skinny is that Rachelle is taking Summit to court. This is bad publicity for the studio, bad publicity for her, bad publicity for the movie. Terror tactics? It’s hard to imagine how Rachelle will be involved with publicity for New Moon when it comes out. Will screenings of New Moon feature boos and hisses at Summit and Victoria(Lefevre)?
Sources claim although Lefevre’s contract does allow her to act in independent movies while being involved with the Twilight franchise, it will be for a judge to decide (or SAG arbitrators) if this also means she can trammell the Twilight/Eclipse schedule at will.
