I did not make the premiere of Eclipse and Twifanatics review is over-due. So here goes.

Twifanatics Review Twilight Eclipse
Let’s start with the big stuff. Hair, Jasper, Rosalie and Bella.
Hair – What’s with the makeup department for Eclipse? Did someone in makeup fall asleep? Jasper, Alice, and Rosalie all had tweeked up hair compared to Twilight and New Moon.
Guess maybe its a year later. Nothing says they have to stay exactly the same looking. (older maybe.. ahem.. ).
I was very much looking forward to seeing the character development and backstories for Jasper and Rosalie in this one.
Bella had a wig on the entire movie (Kristen had to go short/shaved head for the runaways I believe), so I can at least understand why hers looked a bit ‘ off’ .
Jasper – The accent. Um. Authentic southern/texas perhaps? Dunno. I could have done with a bit less accent. I got the hint. He’s southern.
Just irritated me a tad bit more then necessary throughout.
I’m also hoping we get more backstory from Jasper on the DVD release. His character was pretty cool in the book.
Bree Tanner – I’m guessing they tossed the Bree appearance into the movie in order to tie in to the recent Bree Tanner book?
I could have also done without that.
They switched the end up a bit where Bella cuts herself on purpose – in the book of course she does it needlessly - whereas the movie makes it out to be necessary in order to beat back Victoria.
The controversial change of actress in Victoria didn’t bug me at all – quite honestly she’s not on the screen an awful lot in Eclipse. I feel bad for the original actress missing out on the fun of course – but continuity wasn’t a problem.
Lautner and Pattinson did a good job pulling off the scenes together. They both showed pretty good emotional range that matches the intensity we’d see in the book.
I wish we saw more of the Cullen’s in the film but as always there is only so much screen time. Alice is always a fan favorite.
The action sequences went well enough. After reading reviews I had expected the big fight scene at the end to go on a bit longer .
Jacob – Needs a shirt. (just kidding).
Overall Grades:
Soundtrack: A++ I’d rate the soundtrack as good as the first Twilight. New moon’s track was a bit disappointing. But Eclipse comes back with some kick. Jacob’s theme is not as haunting as Bella’s of course.
But the Soundtrack gets an A+ in my book.
Costumes: B- Sadly I noticed costumes/hair/makeup. Basically they shoudln’t be noticed..
Acting: A Good job all around cast!
Movie: A (Granted – this is from a fans perspective) – Eclipse moved along very smoothly. Hit all the major points in the book. Of course I’d love more character development. Hopefully we can get an additional 30 minutes (right!) on the dvd. So far I’d rank Eclipse right toe to toe with Twilight. Action scenes were done well. Wolf graphics weren’t too overtly over cg’ish.
