Rio Hotel shoot-out terrified the Twilight Saga crew

Summit Entertainment has chosen to shoot some scenes in the Brazilian city because it was known in equal measure for its spectacular beaches.

However, the Twilight Saga film might cancel forthcoming filming of sequel In Brazil because of the recent shoot-out incident between the police and a certain gang who took 35 civilians hostages in a tourist hotel.

Riofilme, the city’s organization who promotes movie production, tries to convince Twilight’s US production company Summit Entertainment to stay and continue filming in the city.

The hostage crisis ended in a gunfight that left one dead and wounded six others. One of the columnists of O Globo newspaper, Ancelmo Gois, stated that “Rio’s war” caused an untold smash up to the city’s reputation.
